MELAKA : 2 Days, 1 Night

Melaka, I was there!!

Hey y'all! I'm back, from a very wonderful, thrilling and enjoyable two days and one night vacation at the World Heritage City; Melaka! Just like what I've told you guys in previous post, we (except SiRa Batcha, she dropped out at the very last minute due to some unexpected circumstances) go to Melaka on Tuesday using Transnasional Bus Express at 9.00am. The bus we were using was a double decker, that is a first for me. Before that, in case you guys didn't know (like the rest of us before), the bus terminal to travel between state in Shah Alam is at Seksyen 17. From Seksyen 2, using taxi, you only need to pay RM7.00 but there is bus passing the terminal (T529, only RM1) but me and Papa Poret don't really know where to stop, so we used taxi first.

Papa Poret and Irfan iPad, at Shah Alam Bus Terminal.

Me, Ema Niko (unseen!), Tita Ramona Charles and Neelam Grrr, while waiting for our bus to come to fetch us.

Ema Niko and Neelam Grrr. Neelam was so excited at the first 10 minutes inside the bus, she even flirted with the Indian in front of her. Lol..

The journey to Melaka Sentral (Melaka's bus terminal) took about two to three hours. Along the way, me and Tita Charles Ramona chatted while everyone else was sleeping, but we did take a nap (guess we're out of things to talk) just hour before we arrived in the historic city. To compare Melaka's bus terminal with those in Shah Alam and Miri, Melaka's was far in front of us. There is no question that this state is the most developed state in Malaysia.

Once we arrived, Papa Poret's cousin took us with his 4WD to Bandar Hilir, another budget saving approach, though we need to squeeze in the backseat, five of us. Of course, my Kim Kardashian's ass didn't fit well and my balls are pressed between my thigh. That's hurt but as long as we don't have pay for it, we're fine. We planned to stay in Yellow Mansion Hotel (Papa Poret's cousin didn't know where it is) or Hotel Syahbandar  (too far away from the town) but eventually we stayed in Hotel Johan. We checked-in in two rooms, one room for each gender.

The Hotel Johan is the one in milk green colored building. Our room is not in the building actually, we were like 100 meter away from the hotel main building.

The stair up to our room.

I can't believe I didn't managed to snapped a picture of the room. Anyway, here's a bit of that room.

One night, we only need to pay RM90 (without breakfast package), which is cheaper enough. The room and the hotel was nice and comfy too. We settled down for a bit before walked off to the A'Famosa (less than 15 minutes walk) at 2.00pm. Seeing the entrance walls with my eyes, enough to pumped out my excited level. There was not much of things left but still, a worth visit. A must visit indeed. After that, we off to look for a place to have our late lunch. Along the way, we sight-seeing all the historical buildings, among them was 1753's Christ Church, 1650's The Stadthuys (or the Red Building) and 1849's St. Francis Xavier's Church.

Melaka Islamic Museum. Love the design of the building. You can see the Baba Nyonya influence on the building.

The Clock tower.

Malaysia Youth Museum.

St. Francis Xavier's Church.

Snapped this picture when I saw the name of the building. Its Madonna's building y'all! I love MDNA!

The famous wall. Well, actually I don't what is this for but I saw the year platted above the wall said 1913, so it must be a historical wall.

After asking my followers on Twitter on what to eat in Melaka, most of them replied (which I really appreciate) asking me to taste Asam Pedas and Cendol. We did have Asam Pedas but Stingray cooked with Asam Pedas for our lunch at Yellow Mansion Restaurant (even though we didn't stay at the hotel, to eat there is enough). The Watermelon Juice and the Siput Sedut cooked with coconut milk was delicious, so did the Asam Pedas. I thought it would be so spicy as the name suggest but no, it was okay.

My lunch! Nyum nyum! RM7.00++ with the water.

After that, we walk back and go inside the Christ Church and climb the step to go to the St. Paul Hills. Before that, we took pictures with two horses that was accidentally there named Sakura and Tiger. It was my first time to touch that animal, which is my Chinese's Zodiac. Horse is really an animal full of masculinity. Move on, the view from the hills was spectacular! You can even see the Straits of Malacca. The church on top of the hills, 1559's St. Paul Church, is another must visit place, the photo taken there was amazing. While walking down the hill, we visited the Dutch Graveyard. Some of the grave was there since 1800's. I, for one, won't walk down that area at night.

Me before entering the 'heaven.'

The view from the St. Paul Hills. The tall structure is actually Taming Sari Tower.

Me and Dutch Graveyard. The graveyard remind me of the graveyard that Harry Potter's mother and father was buried.

Loving this place and the pose, unfortunately the camera was shaking.

Down the St. Paul Hills is 1660's Melaka Sultanate Palace. I feel like I am the Prince of Malacca once my feet step on the palace area. While we were there, my phone's battery was rest in peace, so I don't really have the pictures on my phone. Thank God, camera is affordable these days and there is one rich guy in our group, Irfan iPad, he owned a DSLR. We stayed at the Palace for about an hour as it was raining outside, before we visited the garden in front of the palace. We're then off to have Cendol but then, the stall is closed. So we decided to go to the Maritime Museum, but because we're following my instincts, we eventually lost and we ended up at Casa Del Rio hotel. My bad guys.

Melaka Sultanate Palace, my home!

Inside the Sultan's living-room-like.

We decided to go back to the hotel and proceed later at night and do some shopping at Dataran Pahlawan Melaka Megamall and Mahkota Parade. I bought a t-shirt (RM10) as a memorial piece from Melaka, like any other visit I've done, except for Negeri Sembilan and Perak's vacation. We did asked the price to ride a ferris-wheel like things on the Taming Sari Tower but it was price at RM20 per person, so we passed that. We had our dinner at McDonald's cause we can't find any food stalls nearby, before off to hotel and had a guessing card game (which I won), then sleep.

The very next day, we had our breakfast at Indori Nasi Padang Restaurant which is just in front of our hotel. After that, we spent our time at Maritime Museum before check-out at 12.30pm. We managed to taste the suggested Cendol beforehand. It was delicious, especially if you ate in the middle of hot sunny day. We met with our two course mates while there, who is originally from Melaka, Tini Ratini and Nuzul Annissa. While waiting for Papa Poret's cousin to take us to his house in Durian Tunggal, we shopped for some gifts nearby the Stadthuys. I bought nothing though. Typical me.

Indori Restaurant.

My breakfast menu, Roti Canai. Just RM2.50.

The chest was used to carry all the clothes and cooking items.

Ice Cream Cendol! Nyum nyum! RM3.00

Papa Poret's arrived and brought us to his house, along the way, I was sleeping while having my ass cramped! Another typical me, if i was in the car, the percentage for me to have a sleep is very high, especially if i'm very tired. We had our lunch at the house of Papa Poret's cousin. His wife cooked asam pedas and some other delicious cuisine for us. She is a Melaka born, married to a Sabahan. Amazingly, she speaks Sabah very well.

The cuisine cooked by Papa Poret's cousin's wife. Yummy! Another budget saving move. Hehehe..

After that, we off to Melaka Sentral bought 6.45pm ticket back to Shah Alam. We made it safely to Shah Alam, me and Papa Poret uses public transportation back to Seksyen 2. Overall, I spend less than RM150 in this trip. :-)

Malacca. Can't say it much, you have to experience and see it for yourself to know the amazingness! I love Melaka!!

p/s: Will do another visit to Malacca, in the future. Next vacation, Penang? Melawat negeri my love? Haha.. Anyway, will upload more pictures from my tour mates.
