Yeah, the biggest day of my life as a Bachelor's student is here. This is it. This could turn my life around or stuck at the same position. Without further ado, I managed to get passed this day with a smile. I was lucky that I was assigned to a good examiner, Puan Wan Khadijah. My supervisor too; Puan Rosenah A. Halim, was very good to me. There was a judge who judge the overall (poster, booth and the project) was a kind heart person too.
Anyway, I got up very early that morning, around 5am. I installed my application into my cute phone that morning and I finished my presentation slide too that morning. As soon as I arrived at my booth, I quickly set up my booth as nice as possible. I wasn't targeting to get the best booth award. I leave that to a girl to win that. They are the one who are good at that.
Me and my neighbors.
Me dengan wanita UMNO.
Anis and me. Booth dia depan mine ja, senang datang lepak.
Soon as the clock ticked at 830am, the examiner and supervisor start to come over to our booth. To my respect, my supervisor was the earliest person to come. I love that attitude. She did come to my booth to tell me about my report, as I presented the application the day before to her (I recommend next semester student to do so, so jimat masa).
My examiner came around 930am. She was nice. She didn't pretend like she's hearing the presentation. It was a mutual respect. She even gave me some suggestions on what I could do with the project, which I appreciate much. She didn't require me to do much of a correction on my report. Another tips, buat report tebal-tebal (with precise, concise contents), sure you won't have a hassle in doing the correction later. Report tebal, lecturer won't read it that detail. Easy.
Me and my examiner.
The judge came 10 minutes after that. She was warm and friendly. I didn't perceived her as my examiner, more alike my friend or someone that will buy my product. We even talked about how US government using "free" software to the world to monitor idea from the world since I'm using free software to build my application, MIT App Inventor. She also gave me her number. :)
After I was done hours before the booth is closing, I managed to pay a visit to other courses' booth. To be honest, other's booth mood wasn't as inviting as the one we had. The negativity was high. Maybe they were just being stressed or formal tapi booth kitaorang sangat macam kat pasar which is a good thing. Macam convention betul-betul.
Anyway, the day ending with awards given to the students who deserved it (according to the judges). I don't win any, although I was hoping to win best poster but my poster was kinda gloomy too. Tips, partition the content and the title of the content well.
Me and Ratini, the winner of the best project. I told her the night before that she will win and turned out to be true. :)
I thought FYP was a thing that could kill you but if you do it right, it was a peanut. Well, I don't expect my project to be a masterpiece but it was okay, it is something that I have passion to do it. It was my own idea after all. Do what you love, that's the quote.
