Top 15 Songs of 2015
2015 comes to an end in just a minute and it has served us with a list of banging songs. I got to admit that at the start of the year, it was quite boring but then Justin Bieber sings What Do U Mean and Adele sings Hello, 2015 was saved.
And thanks to the revival of iPod (bought it myself in the mid year), the music came to live again. Remember last year when Jessie J's Bang Bang topped the list with only just 66 plays? If it was this year, it wouldn't even cracked the Top 20. You could say it's the year where heavy rotation is revived. Heavy it quite the understatement though, for my #1 song as it received a tremendous 390 plays, became the most played song ever in my five years of data.
Without further ado, here are the top 15 (or 16) songs of 2015:
1. Hello (Adele)**** -
390 plays
2. Wildest Dreams (Taylor Swift)** -
235 plays
3. Run Away With Me (Carly Rae Jepsen) -
180 plays
4. Fight Song (Rachel Platten) -
169 plays
5. Flashlight (Jessie J) -
167 plays
6. Wild (Troye Sivan) - 158 plays
7. Can’t Let Go (Adele) -
110 plays
8. Bed of Lies (Nicki Minaj & Skylar Grey)*** - 107
plays
9. Crazy In Love (2014 Remix) (Beyonce) -
105 plays
10. Blank Space (Taylor Swift) -
102 plays
11. Work (Iggy Azalea)* -
100 plays
12. Cool For The Summer (Demi Lovato) -
97 plays
13. Bitch Better Have My Money (Rihanna) -
96 plays
14. Runnin’ (Lose It All) (Naughty Boy, Beyonce
& Arrow Benjamin) - 95
plays
15. All I Want (Kodaline)* -
89 plays
15. Shine (Years
& Years) -
89 plays
*Both song were released before 2015 but
just recently (this year) discovered and gaining my interest
**Combines the CD (120 plays)
and MV version (115 plays) plays
***Charted in Top Song of 2014
#10 but since it added in the time frame for 2015 songs and still gaining my
interest, it becomes a rare occasion to be charted too in the following year.
Expect this record to be follow by Adele’s Can’t Let Go (currently in the lead
for Top Song of 2016) in next year Year End List due to the same eligibility.
**** It is the most played song
in history. Adele’s Skyfall (#1 Song of 2012) are far behind at #2 with 269
plays.
Side note: Since Iggy’s Work and
Kodaline’s All I Want is not really songs that released in 2015 or late 2014,
and had that been a rule to eliminate both of them, four songs that able to
sneak in the chart are: Elizabeth Tan & Faizal Tahir’s Setia, Empire Cast’s
Conqueror, Kelly Clarkson’s Stay Cover and Taylor Swift’s All You Had To Do Was
Stay, all with equivalent 82 plays.
