LANGKAWI ISLANDS : A Paradise Visit (II)
Continuation from previous entry..
30th October 2012 (Tuesday)
On the Tuesday morning, our first morning in Langkawi, I woke up around 7am (not enough sleep but what the heck, we're on holiday!) and we had our breakfast in the hotel. It was okay. Lot of choices and I prefer it bread section.
We are actually on our 'Island Hopping' schedule, which we booked yesterday at the Kuala Perlis' jetty, and they picked us at our hotel. Before we hop into the boat, they took picture each one of us and of course, I strut my stuff. That picture actually used for a souvenir plate with the picture at the center of the plate. The boat journey was fantastic, especially when we were seated in front. The view of the Langkawi's archipelago is beyond beautiful. You feel like you was in one of the Avatar scene.
Our first stop was to the place where they fed all the eagles. There are two type of eagles, if I'm not mistaken, with the whiter one is cuter. The way they grabbed the food on the sea and then put it into their beak, is amazing. Eagle is a symbol of fierce and strong for me.
Then we head to Beras Basah Island, or if translated into English it will be Wet Rice Island. I have no idea why it have that kind of name. Perhaps some giant drop it rice into the ocean, and that rice became an island. Perhaps. The view on the island is spectacular! Words couldn't describe enough of how beautiful it is. You gotta see it for yourself to know and appreciate how beautiful it is.
Although I don't know how to swim (I'm the only one out of the bunch who don't know), that didn't stop me from bathing and "swimming." We spent about an hour at the island before the boat take us to the last island. En route to the next island, Sira Batcha lost her towel. I saw the towel fly away and when we try to take it back, the towel already sunk in into the water. Sira Batcha is the second victim of thing get lost in this vacation. Who's next? Scary!
The last island was the Pregnant Maiden Island or Pulau Dayang Bunting. I know about the island, if my memory is good, I watched about the island from one of the Majalah Tiga episode. It is believed that if you can't get pregnant and if you swam in the lake (at the center of the island), you will easily get pregnant later. That is the myth but if its true, good for you and bad for me. I don't need a baby as for now.
As soon as we arrived at the lake (you have to climb stairs about 300m before you can reach the lake), there was a scene where one of the Indian almost drowned. Thank God there was a Hasselhoff (a lifeguard) nearby and save him. That spooked me a bit on whether I should go into the lake or not but there is this one female lifeguard (Pamela Anderson?) told me that as long as I'm wearing safety jacket, I am fine.
I tasted the water and it was tasteless. The lake was actually a cave, believe it or not. The cave ceiling is too heavy and then it collapsed, therefore forming a lake. We were given an hour to enjoy ourselves at the island before sent back to our hotel.
Once we reach our hotel, we take shower and I even manage to get a nap before we proceed to our next stop which is Langkawi's Cable Car! The cable car went so up high that i didn't expect it to be that high, so I am scared to death. I can't even move around the cable car as much as my three other friends. There is two stop for each ride. At the last stop, the peak of the ride (at about 700m above the sea level), we met a local singer named Aril from Akademi Fantasia. I won't noticed him if he didn't staring at me, and the reason he is staring could be because we were wearing identical shoes! LOL.
After the fun and scary ride, we walked around the Oriental Village and the second when I want to bought a fedora, the staff is being rude to me. I was looking for a mirror, to see how good the fedora look on me, so I enter the store as the fedora section is outside of the store. Then comes this staff and told me in English,
"Sir, the mirror is outside."
I was like, "Oh okay." Just when I went outside, she mumbling in Northerner's slang which look like to me, she is mad at me. So I put back the fedora and take off. I don't waste time with a store that serve me with bad treatment. She think I don't understand what she is saying. I'm not that foreign la. U ingat I tak belajar apa-apa from watching Anak Mami? Hmm..
After that, we go to the Air Terjun Tujuh Telaga (Seven Wells Waterfall) and apparently that waterfall can be seen from the cable car ride. You have to pay for RM2 to park your car at the parking which I think a bit ridiculous. Then we have to walk for about ten minutes to reach the waterfall. I love the waterfall, though we didn't manage to swim there and find the allegedly seven wells. Maybe next time.
We had our dinner at Wan Thai Restaurant, very next to our hotel. I think, every one of the staff is from Thailand. The food is served in big portion and you can't complaint about it. Then we go to the city, to look for chocolates. You know, Langkawi also famous for its duty free chocolate.
Right after that, we head back to our hotel before going out again later at night to "lepak-lepak" and eat "roti canai" at a restaurant which I could recalled the name of it.
31th October 2012 (Wednesday)
Our last day in Langkawi! Head down for breakfast before checking out from the hotel and gone for good. First thing first, we go to the police station, to pay for our summons (for not displaying parking ticket issued yesterday), only to be told that police have nothing to do with it. So we head to the Majlis Perbandaran Langkawi to settle it. Not a good moment but definitely a memorable one.
Then we visited the famous Haji Ismail Group's chocolate store, next go to the Dataran Lang to take pictures with the iconic eagle structure. We spent almost an hour at the Dataran Lang and took some amazing pictures, at one point, with one of the tourist from China.
After sending out of our rented car, we sat around the KFC (and Papa Poret noticed that he lost his mini bag and left it in the car, but thank God he get it back later on and after that, I am very aware of my things cause i know i'm the next victim!) at the jetty until 6pm which is when our ferry come and took us back to the mainland, ending our visit to Langkawi. Right before that, Sira Batcha sempat membeli belah barangan dapur and I jadi mangsa pengangkut. Haha.. Nah, my pleasure.
Inside the ferry, I have to be seated separately from my friends and that ride feels like forever. Once we arrived at Kuala Perlis, we have to hop in a bus to go to the Kangar, for our real bus is there. From Kangar, we head to Shah Alam.
That's it. The best vacation I ever had so far. Very adventurous. For sure, an unforgettable memory and I might visit it again in the future, perhaps with the love one and my family. Langkawi, definitely a paradise in Malaysia.
p/s : I might have lost the old me on the island, instead of losing my stuff.
Breakfast at Bahagia! From left, Tita Charles, me, Papa Poret and Sira Batcha.
Me and my four flavor bread. I love mixing up them.

Macam pandai ja berenang, nasib ada jaket tu, kalau tak, memang tenggelam la.

Takut sangat sampai duduk atas lantai.
Sampai kat first stop. Ingat sekali jalan ja, ada lagi rupanya.
Berpegang erat pada kerusi, takut sangat. Tapi kena maintain senyuman tu.
Kat the last stop. Memberanikan diri juga naik tembok tu. Tengok la body language tu, mendepan sikit. Takut lettew.
Berempat di atas puncak Langkawi.

Bye bye Hotel Bahagia! We were kinda "bahagia."
Then we visited the famous Haji Ismail Group's chocolate store, next go to the Dataran Lang to take pictures with the iconic eagle structure. We spent almost an hour at the Dataran Lang and took some amazing pictures, at one point, with one of the tourist from China.
Oh yeah, I was here! :)
We conquered Langkawi.
Modeling session. Love love this! Pandai Sira Batcha ambik gambar.
Taken by me. Nice but if i take it from Sira Batcha's angle (like the one above), I think it will look spectacular.
Tita Charles modeling from head to toe.
Papa Poret. If he straightened up his legs, this would be look amazing.
Flying! Kemain susah nak ambik gambar ni.
Dengan pelancong dari China who thought Tita came from Thailand. She even joined us on the jumping shoot.
Dalam feri, menuju ke Kuala Perlis. Sejuk nak mampus dalam feri ni.
Kat Perhentian Bas Kangar, menggila jap. Takkan nak hensem setiap masa kan? Haha..
Last pic kat Perlis. :)
Good morning Shah Alam! :)
