And this is my list of five current (on going or new season is coming soon) favorite TV shows and Malaysian TV shows' producer, pay attention:
Orange is the New Black
- Season 2 will be released within the mid of this year
Girls
- Currently in Season 3, has been renewed for a 4th Season
Another TV shows for those who like boobs cause you will see a very graphic form of a Lena Dunham's upper body part quite a lot in this show, but that is not the reason why I am watching this show (obviously). I love how witty, strong, miserable and genuine are the lines coming out of the characters. The actors were relaxed and full of color. I really, really enjoyed how miserable is each character with their respective love and life cause it feels so true. Plus, I learn more vocabulary from this shows than I ever did in school.
The Walking Dead
- Currently in Season 4
As the TV shows that is not afraid to kill anyone on its show (in a world full of walkers, of course one of the days you will die sooner or later), this show brings another level of grit and special effects of the zombie. The make up is insane; real-est than any zombie ever walked in zombified movie. I love how the movie is not entirely about the walker, instead how the survivors survived with each other. Michonne is my favorite character; she is strong and mysterious in the way that attract me the most. The show evolve every season, getting matured and deep in the process. It is a shame that it didn't snag any nominations in awards season, so far.
Awkward
- Season 4 will be back next month!
This is not your average teenage TV shows, instead of dealing with vampires and werewolves (lame!), it deals with teenage love and hate life of each other. Feel so close at home, not that I really used to involve in such things but it didn't feel like a made up story. During Season 3, the show shows more diversity in the characters and the way it was told which is a very good thing to do to fresh up the show; not that it needs any. I just respect TV show that brave enough to takes a risk. By the way, I love how Sadie Saxton says the now legendary line, "You're welcome" with so much confidence and attitude.
American Horror Story
- Recently finished the 3rd Season, 4th (reportedly will be centered around Carnival) will be back in October this year
How often does a show, now in its third season, told a different stories in every season with the (almost) same cast? Never, in my lifetime. It makes you want to watch the next season and there is actually an ending in every season finale. The show introduced me to the great Jessica Lange and Sam Evans. Though the current season wasn't as strong as the past two seasons, it still good compares to the other TV shows.
p/s: It's 2014 but I am still watching Desperate Housewives cause it sooo good.
Let's share something that is not really intimate with you guys. Something more lighter. I am a fan of a good TV shows that carries great acting, great plot and far from cliche. I love to binge on them whenever I have free time (especially now), nothing is better than try to escape from the real world to the world of impossible in the TV shows.

I do not think I have ever watched TV shows that features the life of prisoners, let alone female prisoners. There are a lot to tell about prisoners, their past and what makes them stuck in the prison. Not to be forgotten, the crisis and the tension in the prison itself which is full of personality. The characters completes each other. I love how crazy in love is Crazy Eyes, how intimidating is Red, how confusing is Piper, how annoyed I am with Pennsatucky and I could go on and on. It is one of the best TV shows this decade. Oh, by the way, since it is a prison for female, you should expect an amount of lesbian scenes.
