Fashionable Monday
Today, our fashion talk about the hit and miss during the fashion extravaganza red carpet of the year! It's Met Costume Institute Gala, that run from 5th May 2010 to 15th August 2010, so if you have the money and time, go to the Metropolitan Museum of Art right away. Bet its a lifetime experience, fashionista!
During the opening event, co-hosted by Oprah Winfrey, Anna Wintour (big name here people!) and Patrick Robinson for Gap, lots of celebrity flaunt their gown in which some of them aww me and some of them, make me snooze. Let's see who hit and who should be miss (in a bad way, of course)!
THE HOST :
Anna Wintour chose Chanel to dress her this time around, now the point is, it is too safe for someone who is the diva in the fashion industry. Though, it does fit with her age. Not too young and not too old. Just enough.
Oprah Winfrey, otherwise, chose gown designed by Oscar de la Renta, which is usual in Oprah term. And that men, accompany Oprah is not her boyfriend, he is Sir Oscar de la Renta himself. What a better way to make an entrance then bring in the designer itself as your arm candy.
This young man is not someone you could wassup with, he is the head designer for Gap, which is explain, why he was called Patrick Robinson for Gap. The tux was okay and smart and will be better if he could smile more. Love the shiny shoes!
THE MODEL :
Gisele Bundchen, the current top supermodel, using a mini dress from Alexandar Wang which i think is nice but not suitable for high fashion event like this. Your hubby, Tom Brady, need a haircut immediately, baby.
The has-been-supermodel and still looking vogue at the age of 54, is Iman which wearing a dress from Prada and the jewels are from Fred Leighton. The dress is looking classic and Iman channeled the sense well. True model, indeed.
Supermodel from Israel, Bar Rafaeli is wearing mini dress from Rag & Bones, if the dress are the type of dress that kiss the floor, it would be a bang for Leonardo DiCaprio-better half since we love the top badly. The hair is just adding the likeness to the appearance.
The current hot model, which is on the way to gain supermodel title, Chanel Iman (a brand name & supermodel name combined together, what else would you expect?) wear a jumpsuit from Michael Kors that shine along with her career. You can see the girl behind her, (yeah, right there) is making a jealous facial expression. Ha! No matter how much we love the jumpsuit, it is certainly not suitable for a gala held annually by Vogue magazine.
We might want to tone down a bit in reporting her choice, since supermodel Naomi Campbell, known for her beat-that-girl-down attitude but thank God, she's looking good in that Dolce & Gabbana dress. If she could maintain that attitude, we would love the girl itself.
THE HIT :
The actress from Lost series, Maggie Grace opted for more known as wedding dress designer, Vera Wang to hug her curve in the right place. We love the fabrics, the color, the clutch and how her hair was styled. Love it.
Anne Hathaway never disappoint fashion watcher like me. During that night, she wear gown made by Valentino, and no words can explained the beautiness of that dress. From neck to floor, it was a knock out, but from head to neck, Miss Hathaway forget to styling her hair, perhaps.
We all know, Spring season is still far away, but we love the floral printed on Eva Mendes's Dolce & Gabbana mermaid esque dress and she can work it what ever season it is. Though, her hair is boring. We've seen that before, Eva.
No one can bring couture better than Carrie Bradshaw herself, oops, we mean Sarah Jessica Parker. The dress made by Halston is too perfect to be ignored into best dressed list! We love the detailed on the bottom, so exotic! Bravo, SJP!
Last but not least, the best dressed of night goes to Madam Jennifer Lopez with her Zuhair Murad Haute Couture gown and Judith Leiber clutch! This define the themed for the gala that night which is American Women : Fashioning A National Identity! Lately, since her comeback to filming industry, we love all the outfits wear by the diva, now let's hope we could love her movie too. (Gigli, remember? Worst. Ever.)

THE MISS :
Here come the grandma! Wait a minute, that's 34 years old Chloe Sevigny! Who thought a fashionista like Chloe would chose a dress that get picked by a grandma? Chloe's herself. By the look from her eyes, she kinda too lazy to choose a dress and let her grandma to choose for her which is a dress from Proenza Schoulder. FAIL.
God bless the bear fur! Is this a ho? No, she is Elizabeth Banks, but does she dress like one. The lace legging is so screaming the whore out loud. You would be so much in shock if you know the designer of the mini dress, its Gucci. Gucci can do bad too.
Oprah's BFF, Gayle King is wearing a left over dress by Angel Sanchez. Enough said.
Boobs are so Heidi Montag, dear Padma Lakshmi, which mean, really bad. Disaster. I'm afraid i have to detained you tonight for the fashion crime you make on you dress's boobs.
Rachel Zoe, please, quit your day job as fashion stylist. Instead, try to learn a lot of things about fashion first, before you can be one again. The dress, by Marc Jacobs, look much heavier than yourself. Yellow, really? That's so last decade.
