Volunteering : PAWS up!!
Hey y'all! How is your holiday so far? Fill it with joy, that's more than enough.
Anyway, today I've joined this volunteering thing under RockCorps Malaysia (this is my second time). Was not intentionally wanting to join this event but since I didn't qualified (though I get the email saying I'm in) to join this another event in Kuala Lumpur, the cycling thing; so I figure out, why not join this one, right? What could go bad with cleaning up animals' shelter, right?
The banner. Clearly, we don't browse through well it since if we did, we would see dogs.
Briefing on what we should do.
Well, the smell of the poop can go bad. Real bad. Haha.. But once you there for more than an hour, it's like the natural scent already. Nah, I'm joking. Haha.. But whatever, it's not like forever I will smell it right? Just for four hours.
Scratching the massive cage. I believe there are about 100 dogs in this shelter.
Focus, focus.
I don't expect the animals will be bunch of dogs. Totally fine with me but kinda awkward type of feeling for my Muslim friends. Thank God we didn't have to enter the dogs' cage and we were told that all we have to do is to scratch the mossy walls and then paint it. Sound easy but once you try to do it on your own, you can get a bicep from it. I believe I grow one. Or two. There goes my feminine hands.
Pergh, what an excited face I put on. XD
Done with scratching and painting, time to get a group photo. Bagi baru, "DAPAT!"
Anyway, I enjoyed this task very well. Met some familiar faces from the previous event and I get the second tickets to the concert. I have always want to give back to the world, in a small or big way. I feel like it is my responsibility to give what others don't have and can't have. I will do more of this in the future. :)
p/s: Three more days till Miri. What to do for that three days?
