Purple Is For Cancer
Hey y'all! Its another blog post from me. Before I proceed, I wanna thank you to my reader who is so kind to compliment or specifically said that he admire my writing. Although I see my writing is nowhere to be admire of but when you said that, it inspire me to do more. Thank you again. You have no idea, one compliment, can be mean so much to someone. Lesson learnt, start complimenting! Ha!
Anyway, this week, I saw this flyer on my faculty regarding a talk about cancer awareness. The word cancer itself, enough to bring my full attention to it. Of course, I will attend it. I will try to get to know a disease that took someone I love, away, as much as possible. You know what they say, bring your friend closer but take your enemy closer to you; or something like that, go figure.
I asked Imah if she wanted to go but she was at her home by Friday (the event was on Saturday) because she need to attend to an event at her school. If you didn't know who is Imah is, she is my beloved friend who is a student at UiTM and a commander at her secondary school. For me to asked my roommates about that event, will only a waste of time. I mean, we can have our college easily for next semester without even try so hard to get the activities coupon. So, I did asked my followers on Twitter to go with me. Apparently, none have time for that. A follower, Yna, suggest to me to asked Syira to go with me. Thank God she didn't have any plan and she said yes to that.
I didn't know purple is the color mascot for cancer. Coincidentally, me and Syira wearing purple; a perfect attire. Though on the flyer, it said it should started at 2pm but due to some sound technical problems, we started at 3pm (approximately). Mademoiselle Azlina, a cancer survivor, share her pain and success as a breast cancer patient (we find out about what type of cancer she had after much deliberate). Hearing what she's been through, we know she is a stronger woman now; much respect to her and other patients. She said, she didn't do the manual checking, until one day when she took a shower and found out some lump in her breast. Guys (yes, breast cancer is unisex), do check your breast daily!
Purple rule! Me and Syahira Zamzuri (she came with her roommate, Syikin), with unknown guy at the back. I was the only guy, who is not a committee of the event, attending the talk. Anyway, I was told, from this picture, that I look like Shahz Jazle. Seriously? He is handsome than me.
Madam Azlina (she is a single mother) sitting while giving the talk.
The audiences paying full attention. I love this picture, with the light reflection above them. Very angelic like.
There wasn't really much we, as an audiences, get from the talk. The sound system was off, the MAKNA representatives wasn't really ready and they don't provide the fund outside the hall, where we can donate after listening to the talk. Overall, they can do better. Out of that limitations, what they trying to do for cancer, the effort, is matter the most. Bravo.
p/s: Start your fight against cancer now. Eat healthy. Live healthy.
